Welcome to the Hot Air Tour

Climate alarmists have bombarded citizens with apocalyptic scenarios and pressured them into environmental political correctness.  It’s time to tell the other side of the story.

Americans for Prosperity is working hard to bring you the missing half of the global warming debate.  What will the impacts of reactionary legislation be for you, your family and our economy?

Join us at an event near you to learn more about climate alarmism and the looming Big Government "solutions."

Colorado Hot Air Tour Swing Tackles Energy Issue

Americans for Prosperity Balloon has message for Udall: "Energy Taxes Hurt Families, Kill Jobs"

COLORADO – The free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) will bring its hot air balloon to Colorado beginning on August 20 for a four-day, seven-stop statewide tour aimed at rallying hundreds of citizens around market-based solutions to energy challenges. The group’s balloon, which has already made 20 stops around the country, will highlight the need for policies that would lower gas and energy prices by increasing American supplies and making domestic production less expensive. Even as energy costs remain at record-high levels, AFP says many lawmakers continue to oppose commonsense solutions at the urging of global warming extremists like Al Gore.

The Tour will kick off on Wednesday, August 20, in Broomfield, before making stops in Fort Collins, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, and Denver. All events are open to the public, but citizens are encouraged to pre-register online.

Midwest Swing Wraps Up

The 75 degree Midwestern breeze blew our hot air balloon through three different states with four stops last week. Starting in Farmington, Michigan, community members gathered on August 13th to show their discontent with economically unsound energy policies that drive up taxes and over-regulate the households of working families. Several state representatives spoke on behalf of our nation's current energy crisis, mobilizing the grassroots and challenging lawmakers to take bold legislative action. We passed through Indiana and finished up in Peoria, Illinois along the riverfront where the hot air balloon was visible from the Murray Baker Bridge as Illinoisans commuted home Friday evening, August 15th.

Gore Fails to Ground Tour

During our Nashville stop we hope to launch a hot-air balloon and float over Al Gore's house in an attempt to expose the high cost of global warming alarmism

A couple of days ago, a Gore spokeswoman ominously warned that they'd be working to block our event:

"We're making inquiries" to see whether the balloon launch violates any local ordinances, (Gore spokeswoman Kalee) Kreider said.

Sure enough, just a few hours before our event was scheduled to kick off, the Nashville Parks and Recreation Department claimes that the permit they approved doesn't allow us to launch our balloon from the city park where we're holding our event -- even though we told them repeatedly exactly what we planned to do.  Click here to read more

Second Swing of the Tour is Complete

The second leg of the nationwide hot air balloon tour began on June 17, highlighting the economic consequences of so-called global warming “solutions” with seven events in six states. The Hot Air Tour has the goal of building grassroots pressure against costly state, local, and federal climate change policies.
